Hike in Platform Ticket Rate

Southern Railway, Tiruchi Division, has increased the price of platform tickets at Tiruchi Junction, Velankanni, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Kumbakonam and Thanjavur Railway Stations.

The platform tickets has been increased from Rs. 10 to Rs. 20 with effect from August 1 at the Tiruchi Junction and from August 15 at other stations mentioned above.

The price has been increased to regulate rush and decongest the stations, besides preventing unauthorised entry, a press release from Tiruchi Division here said.

The revised price of platform ticket will be effective for a period from August 1 to September 30 at Tiruchi Railway Junction.

The revised price will be effective for a period from August 15 to September 15 at Velankanni, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Kumbakonam and Thanjavur railway stations, the release also added.
