PROJECT ‘SAKSHAM’ – A TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR STAFF OF OPERATING BRANCH

A special training programme – ‘Project Saksham’ – has been devised as per the directives of Chairman, Railway Board to enhance the productivity and efficiency of the staff of the Operations Department of Railways. The training programme has a training package for each category of staff in the Operating Branch namely Station Masters, Traffic Inspectors, Controllers, Guards and Points Men.

In Southern Railway, the special training programme was inaugurated recently by Shri S. Anantharaman, Principal Chief Operations Manager, Southern Railway at Zonal Railway Training Institute, Tiruchchirappalli. An interactive session was held during the inaugural programme in which Station Masters, Guards and Traffic Inspectors actively participated. A number of trainees consisting of Station Masters, Guards, Trainee Section Controllers and Instructors from all Divisions of Southern Railway attended the training programme.

This training will be imparted at 26 centres over Southern Railway including Zonal Railway Training Institute, Tiruchchirappalli. This training programme will cover around 175 Section Controllers, 118 Traffic Inspectors and 9445 other Traffic Staff.
