‘Project Saksham’ – Southern Railway Signal & Telecom Training Centre at Podanur launches special ‘Upskilling’ programme for employees
Indian Railways has launched ‘Project Saksham’, country’s largest time-bound ‘upskilling’ exercise for its employees to boost their efficiency. All the employees in each zone will be put through on-the-job or classroom training in Railway Training Centres, depending on the nature of their employment.
Southern Railway Signal and Telecommunication Training Centre at Podanur has organised a special training Programme under ‘Project Saksham’ for all the Signal and Telecommunication Staff of Southern and South Western railway. The upskilling workshops will cover 379 Supervisors, 1636 Technicians and 905 Helpers of Southern Railway and 184 Supervisors, 832 Technicians and 439 Khalasis of South Western Railway totalling 4375 staff. The programme was devised as per the Directives of Chairman Railway Board, to enhance the productivity and efficiency of the staff of S&T Department of Indian Railways.
