ANSWER

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (SHRI RAJEN GOHAIN)

(a) to (c): The help of Indian Army has been sought to construct Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) at Elphinstone Road & Parel, Ambivli and Curry Road railway stations of Mumbai Suburban area.

Repair/maintenance of infrastructure including FOBs at Railway stations is a continuous process. Indian Railways has time tested procedure for inspection, repair and reconstruction of FOBs at Railway stations. Every FOB is inspected at regular intervals. Suitable necessary action is taken as per outcome of inspection.

At present, there is no proposal to entrust works of construction of more FOBs at Railway stations to Indian Army.
