Salient Features Upgraded DEMU train rake

Upgraded DEMU Train (Karwar – Pernem) at Karwar Station

Flagging off Upgraded D.E.M.U. Train (Karwar – Pernem) at Karwar Station

Konkan Railway in its continued efforts and dedicated approach to community has taken various initiatives under the able leadership of Hon’ble Minister of Railways Shri Piyush Goyal by way of providing more and more passenger facilities for the passengers of Konkan region making the journey more comfortable.

The upgraded DEMU train between Karwar and Pernem has been flagged off by Hon’ble Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India Shri Anantkumar Hegde, on 04/09/2018 at Karwar Railway station.

The Upgraded DEMU train rake has following salient features:

• This new design rake with well ventilated Eight Cars will enhance the passenger capacity with improved comfort level.

• The rake with quick acceleration and quick braking is fit for fast and frequent services.

• The coaches of this rake have been fitted with Bio-Toilets.

• 1600 HP DEMU Rake with state of the art AC-AC traction Electro-Pneumatic brake and Micro-processor Controlled Propulsion system.

Konkan Railway always believes in providing better services to its passengers for their comfortable and safe journey.
