Sub: Earmarking of accommodation for RPF in Rajdhani/ Shatabdi Express trains.

Please refer to this office letter no. 2003/TG-I/20/P/2 dated 02.11.2017 wherein it has been inter-alia informed that one side lower berth (berth no. 63 in Coach SI) may be earmarked in Sleeper class coach in the entire train in which the RPF/GRP is travelling.

2. The matter has been further examined and with the approval of Board, it has been decided that one seat in AC Chair Car of Shatabdi Express train and one berth in pantry car of Rajdhani Express trains should be earmarked for escorting staff of RPF travelling in these trains.

2.1 It is desired that seat No, 1 in Coach No. C-4 should be earmarked for RPF travelling in Shatabdi Express trains. In case seat no. 1 has been earmarked by Zonal Railways for ticket checking staff or some other category, the same shall be shifted to adjacent coach/seats but the seat for RPF in Chair Car of Shatabdi Express trains shall be fixed i.e. seat no. 1 coach no. C4.

2.2 It is clarified that henceforth no berth for TS/Conductor shall be earmarked in pantry car.

2.3 The earmarking of accommodation shall be done by Zonal Railways on receipt of request from Security department of the zonal Railway concerned confirming end to end manning of the train.

3. Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned accordingly. Wide publicity may be given about this provision through all possible means for information of general public.
