Foreign Tourist Quota Indian Railways New Rules

Online booking of reserved tickets by foreign tourists -IRCTC NEW RULES

Sub: Online booking of reserved tickets by foreign tourists.

Ref: (i) Letter no. 2017/TG-I/20/P/FT Quota Pt. (Addendum to CC No. 54 of 2017 dated 24.04.2018).

(ii) Letter no. 2016/Tourism/120/1 dated 19.09.2017.

Instructions were issued vide addendum to CC No. 54 of 2017 dated 24.04.2018 circulating a scheme for online booking of reserved ticket by foreign tourists.

In the scheme, provision was made for registering demand of foreign tourists for booking of reserved accommodation upto 365 days in advance only in 1st AC, 2AC and Executive Classes.

2. The matter has been reviewed. Competent Authority have now decided as under;

(i) Existing scheme of online booking of reserved accommodation by foreign tourists upto 365 days in advance shall be allowed in the existing format advised vide addendum of CC No. 54 of 2017 dated 24.04.2018.
(ii) In addition to 1A, 2A and EC classes, the facility of online registration of demand by foreign tourist upto 365 days in advance shall also be provided in Sleeper, 3A, AC Chair Car and 2S classes subject to the following limitations;

Class No. of berths/seats
Sleeper 04 berths per coach
3AC 04 berths per coach
CC 06 seats per coach
2S 05 seats per train

(iii) Keeping in view discontinuation of facility of Ind Rail Passes (IRP) and the scheme of General Sales Agents (GSAs), no request for booking of reserved tickets from foreign tourist quota or otherwise against IRP shall be accepted.
(iv) Zonal Railways can earmark Foreign Tourist Quota in different classes, for booking by Foreign Tourists within ARP, based on demand pattern. The quota so earmarked shall be reviewed periodically based on utilisation and adjustments made, wherever required.

5. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.

6. Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned accordingly.
